Being one of the earlier KAMELOT fans around, there has for many years been 2 distinct eras of the band for me. I prefer the earlier era of course, as it holds a very special place in my heart, anyone who knows me will know that to be the case. Having said that some of the modern stuff is just superb. This album has been out for a couple of weeks now, giving me time to play it numerous times to see if it ‘would stick’. From the very opening of the album, it’s obvious which band you’re listening to. You can pick their style straight away. It’s KAMELOT doing what they do, which is a loud, brash, cinematic style of Metal, less ‘Power’ and more ‘Symphonic’ to me than the earlier days, but still the masters of the ‘light and shade’.
