MORTAL SIN – Adelaide

Friday June 19th was the day for MORTAL SIN‘s return to Adelaide for a sold out gig at the Ed Castle Hotel in Currie Street. The place was packed to the gills and it went off like a frog in a sock. BROKEN LOOSE were first up and I was jammed against the back wall, so no usable photos, sorry. In between them and HEADBORE I positioned myself sidestage, the only real spot to use a big camera. It is what it is. Anyway, HEADBORE pumped out a solid, aggressive set that went down a storm. This was going to be an interesting night indeed and there’s 2 more bands to go. HIDDEN INTENT up next. You know you’re going to get an in-your-face set with these boys and they didn’t disappoint. By the time MORTAL SIN took the stage the place was rocking like a 1980’s inner city thrash gig. My mind flashed back to gigs at the New Century Hotel that wasn’t that far from this place. It was loud, it was intense. Most of the front row had a foot on the stage to brace themselves against the wall of bodies behind. MORTAL SIN bashed out epic tracks, one after another. ‘Blood Death Hatred’, ‘Women In Leather’, Voyage Of The Disturbed’, ‘Lebanon’ and more. Crazy. It was indeed a crazy night.
Catch them when you can. You will have an opportunity in a few months when they go out with FLOTSAM AND JETSAM. Don’t miss that.
Photos mainly through the side stage curtain. Cheers.
