Friday night was SHREDFEST night here in Adelaide at Lion Arts Factory, and what a night it was. Local heroes, OATH OF DAMNATION, set the ball rolling with a powerhouse set of their very, very dark Metal. ANOXIA swung by from Sydney to hit us with a set of their brutal Death Metal. By this stage the ears were taking a real pounding. ASHEN from Perth were up next. I found myself getting into these guys. A good set of brutal Metal. Next up, FALLUJAH. These guys are out there, waaaaaay out there. This isn’t a criticism, just an observation. The sounds that come from this band just seem to come from the abyss, they always keep you guessing and don’t disappoint. And lastly, OBSCURA. A very entertaining set, musically and visually, a fitting end to an entertaining night. Before I finish, I know it was called SHREDFEST, and with shredding, you think guitars, but the unsung heroes of the night were the drummers. Holy crap! Hats off to them. See this tour if you can. You may still have time. Photos are below. Cheers.
