MASTODON have released a new album, ‘Marrow Deep‘, their first album since 2021, and of course this is their first release since the departure and subsequent death of founding lead guitarist, Brett Hinds. Obviously that is going to have a huge effect on any band, but I think MASTODON have managed it quite well. This album takes you on a trip, a pretty spun-out trip at that, but it is very enjoyable listening. A few guest appearances, most notably Geezer Butler (Black Sabbath), Randy Blythe (Lamb Of God) and Josh Homme (Queens Of The Stone Age). The album takes on many moods, lots of light and shade within the songs, ‘In The Ruins’, I’m looking at you.
