FIRES IN THE DISTANCE are a band from Connecticut, USA, which left me gobsmacked when I heard them for the first time (which was very recently). Even though their Bandcamp page says Melodic Death Metal, I feel that is a bit too tight a description, as there are a few other labels you can put in there. They have that Finnish vibe for me, which I love, but they have some keyboards put in the right places to give it a different sort of mood.
Their latest album, ‘Air Not Meant For Us’ has just been released. This album is on high rotation. Check it out. I think you’ll be glad you did.
