I had another cool and very relaxed chat with the legend that is ROSS THE BOSS, about many many things, not the least of which was the memories of the early days of MANOWAR, recording 'Sign Of The Hammer', and touring back in the day, and of course the upcoming Australian ROSS THE BOSS tour, playing the afore-mentioned MANOWAR album in full. Okay, so this band of ladies from Sweden rock, and rock very, very hard. They're listed as Melodic Death Metal, but to me they err on the side of way more brutal. WAY MORE. An excellent, punishing album of delightful little ditties based on various female serial killers.

I went along and saw WINGER the other night here in Adelaide and was entertained by a top quality band. It was 5 musicians all at the top of their game. Never thought I'd find myself at a WINGER show, but here we are. SHOTGUN MISTRESS were support and they got the crowd warmed up nicely.

Saturday November 23rd at the Woodshed was the scene for 'BRAVE NU WORLD – A Tribute To Nu-Metal'. A good sized crowd rocked in, and were ready to be entertained, and an entertaining night it was. LIMPIZKIT (featuring the music of Limp Bizkit), then FOLLOW THE LEADER (Korn), and finally FALLEN (Evanescence) played good quality sets and immense fun was had by all.

This is a very impressive spectacle. 16,000 people packed in, and SABATON doing what they do, that is, the story of war and conflict told through Metal, with a stage set and pyros to match. Grab a ticket and I will see you at the screening.

Photos from a wild night at The Gov last night. Crowd favourites, CRADLE OF FILTH came to town, ably supported by INFECTED RAIN on their first visit Down Under. It's safe to say that the band from Moldova made a lot of new friends with their action packed set, before CRADLE OF FILTH blew the roof off again. Enjoy.

I've been waiting for this album's release so I can sing it's praises. This takes me back to the classic mid-to-late 80s. The songs are energetic and well paced, the vocals are great and understandable, the guitar work is on-point.

This is probably the most diverse Black Metal album I have ever heard. Not so fast blackness, screamed vocals, intertwined with haunting piano and acoustic passages that belies the blackness of most of the rest of the album.
It is a trip.
It is a trip you should take.
