Hailing from Adelaide, South Australia, Nakatomi Plaza
redefines the power trio for modern audiences – the
performer (Chinese/Scottish bass player and vocalist
Jason Sym Choon), the powerhouse (Jason Eyers-White,
best described by one reviewer as a muscular presence
on drums) and the technical wizard (chief songwriter
and riff merchant Jason Higgs on guitar).
Yes, you read that correctly – there are three Jasons
in this band. After playing together in other local bands
for years, they made their live debut as Nakatomi Plaza
on Boxing Day 2022, and on the strength of that, they were
invited to play at Churches of Steel festival in January 2023.
With influences like Maiden, Metallica, In Flames,
Motorhead and Ghost, the band has a huge, compelling
sound with earworms for days. The Nakatomi Plaza live show
is unrivalled in terms of energy, stagecraft and audience
engagement, and the band is ready to take their sound to
the world in 2023, with their debut single Bloodlines
released on 22 August.
