Okay, so Tuesday the 9th I was there at The Gov to witness FILTER on their first headline tour since 2000. I’d previously seen them at Soundwave in 2014 I think it was and that was an ‘interesting’ show. This time around there were no audio issues as far as I can tell, and the healthy Tuesday night crowd has a night of riotous entertainment. They didn’t play my 2 favourite FILTER songs, but it’s not about me and my preferences is it? They did play an 18 song setlist, so it’s not like they skimped out or anything.
New Zealand’s BLACK SMOKE TRIGGER opened the night and played an energetic set to get the crowd ready.
I managed to secure a photo pass. I was not prepared for the smoke though, WOW. Wasn’t too bad during BLACK SMOKE TRIGGER, but during FILTER it was next level. Thickest I’ve seen at The Gov. There was no barrier, so photos of FILTER were the best I could manage through the smoke and bingo wings. Enjoy.
