Okay, so this is out there. I don’t even know where to begin to describe this.
OCTOPLOID is basically the solo band of Olli-Pekka Laine, who you may know from AMORPHIS. He’s got an excellent band put together and roped in a couple of guest appearances from a few of his AMORPHIS band mates, among others. The album is a trip, man!
To quote from the press release, which says it better than I can – ‘The band’s music combines elements from 90’s death/black metal, 70’s prog rock and 90’s psychedelic rock. In one phrase, Octoploid has been described as “70’s death metal’.
