Top Albums For 2025

Possibly the earliest I’ve got this done.
2025 has given way to 2026, so that means a list like this mysteriously appears. In compiling this list I’ve noticed one thing, and that is there is a bit of a genre shift this year, not in my taste, just what I feel has been complete albums. This is my list, not to interfere with YOUR list, just what I feel were the better albums of 2025. I could gone on but you have to draw the line somewhere.

Album of the year - 2025

KING WITCH – ‘III’

This band from Scotland have blown me away with this album. In my eyes (and ears) it is a worthy number 1 on my list for 2025. Doom, magnificently done, heavy, brooding at times, and THAT voice, oh my God, that voice. Suits everything so perfectly. The songs are awesome, this album keeps on giving.
Well done, KING WITCH.
Check this album out if you haven’t already.

DRAGONKNIGHT – ‘Legions’

A band from Finland. There’s Finland, AGAIN. This is one where you see the songs titles and you know exactly where you’ve landed. You give it a listen. It’s Power Metal, it’s outrageous, it’s over the top, it’s fun, and everything just works. Horns, and swords, UP.

PRIMAL FEAR – ‘Domination’

PRIMAL FEAR are back with a ripper. New guitarist, Thalia, who you may recognise, has brought some added energy and this album explodes out of the gates. ‘I Am The Primal Fear’, quite possibly the song of the year. Enjoy.
