Review – MASS SKY RAID – ‘Calm In Chaos’

MASS SKY RAID are a band from the Gold Coast. Their style is listed as alt-rock. This is probably a bit ‘edge of zone’ for me but this album grew on me to the point where I will gladly listen again and again. This is a band that sounds like they really know what they’re are doing and have found their place in the world. The songs click off one after another. They are well constructed, making good use of light and shade, with excellent percussion and great vocal melodies, delivered well. Standout tracks are the 2 I’ve linked videos of. If you listen to them you will get a good insight into this album. The songs are all in the 3-4 minute range, there are no ‘fillers’ in play. All the songs are solid and all  have a story to tell.

Verdict – Really good album, full of great songs. These guys are about to tour, maybe you should check them out when they ‘come to your town’.
